Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means shall hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
Now, I know that at some time in your lives, you have watched a movie and in the movie, a character equipped with a weapon was afraid to use it. I mean, they would have a gun or sword in hand and too afraid to use it. In addition, while watching…you were probably talking to the TV saying us it stupid!hurry!…or something like that.
Well, did you know that as a born again believer, you hold greater power than even a person holding a gun in his or her hands pointing at the adversary? Brothers and sisters, Luke 10:20 tell us that the spirits are subject to us (true believers that is) and that we should rejoice because our names are written in heaven.
We who are with Jesus really have the upper hand in all spiritual warfare against the enemy. Revelation 17:14 says: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
If you truly want to see the face of God, it is necessary to take up your spiritual weapons and fight back. The word of God is our weapon of warfare. However, until we learn and speak it aloud, we will never see the manifestation of victory over our enemy. Truly, our war is not against another brother or sister.
We should not ever place a face with the altercation or issues we face. We are not fighting against flesh and blood…we are in spiritual warfare. Unless you get spiritually fit…you are doomed to lose. No matter how strong you may think you are in your mind and physical body…remember. If you are spiritually weak…You are being set up for the kill. Get in on this gift of salvation; give yourself away so God can use you. Remember we are salt and light to the world.
America celebrates Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th. However, some Americans do not understand the significance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is about honoring the many brave military people who defended our country. As an ex-soldier of the United States Army, I was not one of those who actually went to war. However, I stayed behind and did a great deal of guard duty for families left behind enemy lines in Germany.
Some Americans go about their daily duty without ever thinking about the security of our country. We often run around trying to make ends meet or are partying hardy while men and women fight for our country. Personally, I do not think there is enough recognition for those brave men and women who risk their lives for us.
Nevertheless, military people are not the only people on the battlefield. Christians are on the battlefield every day. A devout soldier of the Lord has the responsibility of pulling God‘s children back from the enemy lines. They do this by telling them the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who released us from the grips of the enemy. As a Christian, we make it known to the lost that “WE WIN” through believing and trusting that the battle is the Lords and we are instruments sharpened by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Christians are required to take this spiritual battle serious and understand that whether we want to or not, we must stay focused on the Commanding officers lead. He automatically knows every move and sees every thing the enemy is trying to do. He is the all-seeing, all knowing God Almighty!
Only through listening and believing in Him will we have the ability to be steps ahead of the enemy. Our Commanding Officer gives us the ability to NOT get caught off guard. However, we must pay close attention to Him by building a strong line of communication with Him. He even helps us when it is hard to venture into the unknown as to accomplish our mission.
God teaches us how to be effective mighty warriors defending the lost and wounded souls of battle. Those who try to be heroes, not listening to the commanding officer will not gain a purple heart or great badge for bravery. The only badge they will receive is a badge of dishonor for refusing to obey.
As mighty warriors, we are invincible through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Live or die, we win! Carry on Soldiers of the Lord!
Father God, Your kingdom is not of this world but we Christian soldiers must fight to hold back the enemy. Your kingdom stands forever and shall break down all other kingdoms and bring them to an end. Lord, I understand that I must take part in the aggression towards our enemies. Every day I enter into violent spiritual warfare.
Your Holy Word tells me that through You, I push down my enemies and through Your name I will crush them under that rise up against me. As I walk through this valley of the shadow of death, I am not afraid of what the enemy can do to me. My feet are planted with the preparation of the Gospel.
Thank You for developing me so that I can continue, and take up the shield of faith and stop the fiery darts of the wicked. You said in Your word that no man will be able to stand against me, for just like You were with Moses, You promised not to fail me nor forsake me. Through You, and through the sword of the spirit, which is Your Word, I am invincible.
Truly Your spirit and my anointed appointment makes me aggressively bound to speaking good tidings to the meek, binding up the brokenhearted, and proclaiming liberty to the captives, and opening the prison to them that are bound. Indeed, I endeavor that I may stand along the sea of glass celebrating the victory over the beast while holding the harps of God. Father, I thank you for strength, diligence, and determination, to press forward toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Amen.
