Proverbs 20:3 NLT says avoiding a fight is a mark of honor, only fools insist on quarreling. Life brings many challenges that help build our patience. However difficult, quarreling, complaining and selfish people make it seem as though we’re fighting a battle that’s already lost. I find myself losing this battle or any battle, when I lose focus on who’s doing a new thing… quarreling is a recipe for ending up in wastelands. You see, Satan has willing instruments who throw us off our route. Once we swerve off course, we end up in the wastelands. Who’s making a way out of these wastelands? Isaiah 43:19 says “See, I am doing a new thing.” What new thing did God do? Brothers and sisters, God gave us a savior, a comforter, a guide, and a get out of jail free ticket. God gave us freedom from bondage to sin and power to overcome the crafty tricks of the devil.
Born-again believers, saved by grace through Jesus Christ must utilize their God-given grace…their spiritual power and boldly engage in spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:12 explains, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Satan uses people to push our buttons. Satan hates Christ followers. He’s not playing games. The devil wants us to go down with Him. He’s recruiting many people through emotional turmoil caused by button pushers. Brothers and sisters until the coming of Christ we must continue to engage in spiritual warfare. So from this day on do not allow aggressive people who love to quarrel get you down. Pick up the sword… your Bible; read it, study it, meditate on it, and learn to fight back and be effective in spiritual warfare. The Word of God is powerful against satanic attacks. It is a probing instrument. Hebrews 4:12 NIV explains that “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” The Word of God is a defense weapon. Ephesians 6:17 reminds us to take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Jeremiah 5:14 KJV says, “Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says: “Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes.” Again, in Jeremiah 23:29, God spoke to Jeremiah saying, “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
