In the first few chapters of the book of Genesis, God established Adam as Eve and gave them power over everything, and everything they needed, he also gave.  After the serpent convinced Eve against God’s s specific instructions, Genesis 3:6 tells us that she was convinced after she saw how beautiful and delicious the fruit looked and she desperately wanted it. Allurement is attraction to something flattering or desirable.

Eve‘s desires for the fruit made her forget the importance of what she already had. According to James 1:15; lust gives birth to sinful actions. In Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 18, states we continue to drift far from the life God gives.

Many of us keep closing our minds and hardening our hearts towards God. Still, even in our rebellion, God loves us so much, that again, he gave us everything we could ever need or want through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Yet, we still do not understand the importance and the power we possess. Some people are not excited by God, but by His creations. Clearly, they are after the charming things they see, hear, taste, and feel, however, we should be chasing God. We should be storing up heavenly treasure that will never end. We are to desire the creator more than His creations.

Resisting Evil Draws you Closer to God

Resisting Evil Draws you Closer to God

When we were born into this world, we all had a tendency to sin. Psalms 51:5 tells us that we were shapened in iniquity in sin did our mother conceive. What this means is that we are decedents of Adam and Eve. We are natural born sinners. Put two toddlers in a room and give them one ball to play with and sit back and watch what happens. Eventually they will fight over the ball. Nobody had to teach those toddlers how to be selfish.

It is not until we receive Jesus Christ into our lives that we become a new creation. However delayed salvation makes it harder to separate from our old sinful habits we have nourished for years. For instance, some people have a tendency to lie, others have a tendency to steal, and people have a particular type of nature they may nurture over and over again. If you have a tendency to steal and nourish that tendency by continuing to steal, this tendency becomes a full-blown thing that you perform  by not paying attention to your conscience. You have nurtured that tendency so that it is second nature to you. The Word of God has the power to change bad habits that are totally out of line with the will of God. The Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteous and sinful acts.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 King James Version (KJV) outlines major sinful acts happening right now.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diver’s lusts,

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

We must strive to abandon our old sinful nature and draw closer to God:

James 4:1-10 New Living Translation (NLT) gives us the remedy to getting rid of sins hold on you

What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. What do you think the Scriptures mean when they say that the spirit God has placed within us is filled with envy? But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say,

“God opposes the proud

but favors the humble.”

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.  Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

True Believers in the Word

Exodus 31:3  of the Bible states: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in ALL manner of workmanship,….

Brothers and sisters true believers are Filled with God’s skills

When your relationship and bond with the Lord gets stronger, you become spiritually alive and highly skilled in all wisdom, knowledge, understanding and abilities. As you consistently focus on the word of God, God begins to reveal more and more of Himself to you, therefore, you begin to see through his eyes, you hear as He hears and you speak the way he speaks. Most people who make a firm statement actually believe that he or she is right in what they are saying. No one makes a statement thinking he or she is wrong. The word of God fills you with the spirit of God in all wisdom, understanding, knowledge and all manner of workmanship. The word of God never comes back void and without meaning.  You speak with boldness and confidence and now your family, and friends see you differently.  Some will call you a hypocrite or try to throw your past in your face to discourage you. Brothers and sisters, this is truly a set up and as I have said before, the enemy is out to attack your character and to convince you that Gods words are not true. All you have to do is start studying the Bible, praying, going to church, or witnessing to loss souls and Watch how the enemy comes forth with constant distractions.

Overcoming Fear

In 2 Chronicles 32:7 and 8 It says:
Be strong and courageous be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with them.
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles. …
Thou many troubles rise against us and appear greater and mightier than us, they will not prevail. 2 Timothy chapter 1 says “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind.” Did you know that fear will send us to Hell?

In Revelations 21:7 it says the fearful and unbelievers will have their part in the Lake of fire. Fear comes from unbelief that God is whom He says he is.

Our greatest fears are death, uncertainties, change and poverty. If you fear change…do just that CHANGE…if you fear poverty…give! We must face our fears head on.
