In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” Then Proverbs 14:12 says “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” A worldly concept of self-love, is those who choose broad way that leads to destruction. These are those who chose the “it’s all about me” pathway. The dictionary online states that self-love is the instinct by which one’s actions are directed to the promotion of one’s own welfare or well-being, especially in excessive regard to one’s owns advantage. Defining the word selfish we discover that it means pretty much the same thing. Now let us not get it twisted. It is totally normal to care about your physical, mental, spiritual and financial well-being. God wants us to be healthy and strong to carry out his plans and purposes in this earth. Broke down, depressing, hopeless, worthless people do not tend to make positive impacts on the lives of others. We need to be love magnets in a god-like love. However the self-love I’m speaking of is that “It’s all about me” self-love. We have to be very careful not to become “ate up” with ourselves. “Ate up” meaning you eat, sleep and breathe self. When our minds are in that mode of thinking, we hog all the love to ourselves and others don’t stand a chance of getting even a little bit of love from us. God wants us to share our love. Honestly, it is only through God can we understand what true love is. Loves come from God and is meant to be shared. God is love. Please study 1 Corinthians 13th chapter, then meditate on 1 John 4:7-8.
Have you ever claimed you have faith yet nothing you do proves this to be true?
You met a poor homeless fella and told him to go in peace, do whatever it is that you do.
Did you even bother to give him fuel for his journey, did you share the word of God, the Word of Truth?
Did you tell him about the power and authority given to him who believes?
Why haven’t you shared anything to strengthen him so he won’t be so sad and blue?
It could be that he really wants to receive.
Turn back around and love this person, don’t just leave.
Tell him the truth so he can be free!
Silver and gold, you may have none,
But go ahead, show forth the power, be who God made you to be.
Let Gods Kingdom Come and His will be done!
Brothers and sisters, God really love us and he loved Job. However, many people assume that because God truly loves you, he will always prevent suffering. God’s love is not measured by how much we suffer. Many people look at the story of Job and charge God with being very unfair and cruel to take a wager with Satan and allow a man to experience extreme suffering. But there’s one thing we must keep in mind and that is Isaiah 55:8 says: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. Of course! God can easily save us from suffering, however, God could be causing us to suffer for reasons we cannot understand. If we never suffered, then how would our faith grow? You know brothers and sister, we have to have that attitude that says “Well Lord, I just don’t know what’s going on, but YOU DO…then say…I TRUST YOU LORD!. Do you think believing in God protects you from troubles. John 16:33 says: I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
There are so many messages in The Book of Job and the entire Bible which will remain mysteries until we cross over to see our Maker. However, another message God is trying to get across to the audience is not to give up on Him when hard times hit home. I’m sure some of you have some powerful testimonies of victories which you are still rejoicing over.
Listen, faith in God does not guarantee prosperity nor does it guarantee we’ll be bubbling with joy all the time. There are some very faithful people who have experienced very hard times. On the other hand lack of faith does not guarantee troubles in life. Some of you may be asking ” So, what’s really going on?” Like I said, just say… “Well Lord, I don’t know what’s going on, but YOU DO…then say.. I TRUST YOU LORD!
Let’s get our praise on! We Love you Forever Dear Lord!
If you are out there alone on this Valentines Day. Don’t be distressed…
Have yourself…a lovely day anyway.
Don’t worry if there no one brings you roses or giving you a kiss.
If the gestures aren’t pure and from the heart, they’ll only make you reminisce.
Take the time out to love yourself, treat yourself to a nice outing, enjoy and be carefree.
Be sure not to forget to meditate on the fact that the love of God supersedes…
He takes care of all of your needs. Is there any greater Love than the Love of God…I should think not!
When we are born again, our spirit is born again, not our minds and body. Remember we are spirit beings that never die. The body dies and the spirit goes one of two places. A born again Christian has a new sinless spirit within that the old sinful nature hates. That nature hates that it resides right alongside the sinless spirit. The ultimate goal of the new spirit is to bring that old sinful nature into subjection and into alignment with what God says. However, the old sinful nature is not trying to hear all that nonsense. Romans 8:5 tells us: “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”
You see brothers and sisters; our flesh (worldly way of thinking that is not in alignment with spiritual the spiritual realm) is our true enemy. It does not matter where we go, the flesh tags along trying to persuade us to go against the spirit within. Indeed the war inside hurts so bad to the point that many of us cry out in agony for relief from all the pulling and tugging that is going on. Galatians 5:17 states: “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” We have a choice people to either agree with the Holy Spirit within or disagree. The consequence we receive is typically based on the choice we made.
Truly, I believe that it is better to run, resist, hold back and do like 1Peter 2:11 (NLT)…Peter states: Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) reminds us: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Our sinful nature is up to no good. Listen to what Paul says in Romans 7:18: “And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t.”
Some of us think that we can take fire in your bosom and not get burned. Well, if you recently vowed to be celibate, be careful not to find yourself in the midst of a situation where your flesh will decide what it wants to do. You see, if we trust our flesh to be strong we fall prey to the trickery of the enemy. Many of us have not yet realized that our nature is to sin. We have SINNED much longer and we are a lot more prone to do what the flesh WANT US TO DO. Brothers and sisters, for this reason, God came and offered us the perfect solution.
Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, The Holy Ghost moves in and manifests His endless love for us. He guides us and enables us to do things better than we ever did before, He gives us massive self control, wisdom, discretion, insight and so much more! Nevertheless, we have to listen. When we give in to the prompts of the Holy Spirit, we are transformed in to new creations, fashioned just the way God wants us. That old sinful nature is bought into subjection and literally crucified.
We begin to do everything for the sake of Christ because we love him, not because we think it is just what we are suppose to do. We become the salt that adds flavor to all situations and the light that overcomes darkness. We soar like eagles and become fearless as lions. I do not know about you, but I believe “SALVATION” is the best gift anyone could ever receive…Only believe in Gods way and not my way and I receive power to become more than I thought I could ever be! However, most of all, I get to see my Maker…GOD, when I leave this wretched flesh. Wow! This is truly awesome!
