Delighting in the Lord

Lord God, for a brand new day, we are grateful and joyful to be alive! Psalm 4:7 says “You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.” Lord God, we thank you for joy even in the midst of storms. We know that as long as you are with us, we win. In the name of Jesus, embrace the lives of our unbelieving family members and draw them nearer to you. Father, we desire for our loved ones to go to heaven as well. Help us to be your instrument and to plant seeds in their lives so you can grow them in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Thank you for their salvation. Thank you for your joy which is our strength.

When I open my blinds to look outside, I cannot help but smile. I think: “My God, what an artist you are.” Passing people on the streets, noticing how different they are, I think to myself: “Lord, your handiwork in creating us is beyond awesome!” Brothers and sisters, the testimonies I just shared are only a few examples of delighting in the Lord. Delighting in the Lord is a joyful response to the things we know God can do. Delighting in the Lord is a joyful response to understanding the power, majesty, mercy, and grace God provides.
Isaiah 61:10 describes my feeling better than any words I can utter. Isaiah 61:10 says “I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! “For he has dressed me in the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.” Brothers and sisters, Psalm 37:4 KJV says “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” This scripture is always taken literally and out of context. Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us that The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? God does not grant evil desires. In John 15:7 Jesus said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Delighting in the Lord is abiding in the Lord. Therefore, when we abide or delight ourselves in the Lord, our desires become His desires. Therefore, God gives us the desires of His Heart!

I am my Brother”s Keeper

And the LORD said unto Cain, Where [is] Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: [Am] I my brother’s keeper? (Genesis 4:9) Overall brothers and sisters, we are our brothers keeper. We as Christians are to restore a sinning believer GENTLY.  We are not to grind them into the dirt and treat them harshly. Oftentimes, when we find out that our Christian brother or sister is still sinning willfully our immediate action is to ignore it all. We say to ourselves “What is it to me if another Christian is sinning.” As I said, we are our Brother’s keeper and according to the Bible, we are responsible to help others to be holy through an appropriate rebuke.

This is not a judgment, but a gentle rebuke or scolding. Galatians 6:1-2 (New American Standard Bible NASB) states  Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. The intention of the rebuke is not just to prove you are right or to win an dispute.

This is a rebuke of support and restoration. However, before attempting to rebuke, confer with the Lord on how exactly to go about restoring your brother or sister. Ask the Lord to speak through your vocal cords and think through your mind and let it be all of Him and none of you. We really must decrease as God increases in our lives. Pride is a devilish device that will surely steer us in the wrong direction. The person we restore will profit to remember 1 Peter 5: 10 (NLT) that “In kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

Are You Really “Only Human”?

2Corinthians 5:17 tells us: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

This very scripture confirms that a born again Christian should never utter the words “I am only human” out of his or her mouth. When we make excuses for our behavior using these words, we fall into that lie Satan feeds into our minds. This lie causes us to compromise and therefore we are eventually defeated instead of defeating the foe.

Yes it is in the human nature to sin because until we become born again through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior from that old sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve, we are “only human”. But to say the words “I am human” is outright denying that you are born again. Born again Christians can no longer blame failures on the human nature because 2 Corinthians 5:17 confirms: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Overall, when a person says ” I am only human” he or she is saying they are not born again, but only human. You see, either you are born again or not. If you have a sinful nature and a righteous nature, then is one going to heaven and the other one going to hell? It is true that only the spirit man is born again, that is who you are… That old nature is just a residue trying to take over by fighting against the new nature, but It can only take over when we give in to what it is enticing us to do.  You see, the ultimate goal God is achieving  is to bring our body and soul into agreement with our new spirit. We are transformed by the renewing of our mind and made whole. Nothing missing, nothing broken. If your goal is to see the face of your Maker, then  rejecting the new nature is a fatal mistake. God is a spirit, we cannot cross over to His spiritual realm with a carnal(worldly, human) mindset.

It is important to understand that the old sinful nature brought on by Adam and Eve keeps trying to control us. Satan keeps trying to speak to it and convince us that we are not saved, nor are we new in spirit. However, a born again Christian takes on that righteous sinless nature of Jesus Christ. That nature that is stronger than that old nature.  Christ died so we would be free from the bondage of that old human nature. However, you have a choice. Choose to resist the devil and he will leave you. As long as you continue to choose to obey the new born nature within, you WIN. Greater is he in you than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

God sees Jesus in us and not our old sinful nature that’s trying to hold on  (those born again)
Now of course if you do not believe in the Bible and that Christ died for your sins, then you are one described in John 10:26 where Jesus said: But you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep. Those who have not accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior are indeed not a new creation therefor they are only human. They still belong to the devil.  So…this information only applies to those who actually care where they will spend eternity. You choose who you will obey.

Memorial Day and Instruments of War

America celebrates Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th. However, some Americans  do not understand the significance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is about honoring the many brave military people who defended our country.   As an ex-soldier of the United States Army, I was not one of those who actually went to war. However, I stayed behind and did a great deal of guard duty for families left behind enemy lines in Germany.

Some Americans  go about their daily duty without ever thinking about the security of our country. We often run around trying to make ends meet or are partying hardy while men and women fight for our country. Personally, I do not think there is enough recognition for those brave men and women who risk their lives for us.

Nevertheless, military people are not the only people on the battlefield. Christians are on the battlefield every day. A devout soldier of the Lord has the responsibility of pulling God‘s children back from the enemy lines. They do this by telling them the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who released us from the grips of the enemy. As a Christian, we make it known to the lost that “WE WIN” through believing and trusting that the battle is the Lords and we are instruments sharpened by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Christians are required to take this spiritual battle serious and understand that whether we want to or not, we must stay focused on the Commanding officers lead. He automatically knows every move and sees every thing the enemy is trying to do. He is the all-seeing, all knowing God Almighty!

Only through listening and believing in  Him will we have the ability to be steps ahead of the enemy. Our Commanding Officer gives us the ability to NOT get caught off guard. However, we must pay close attention to Him by building a strong line of communication with Him.  He even helps us when it is hard to venture into the unknown as to  accomplish our mission.

God teaches us how to be effective mighty warriors defending the lost and wounded souls of battle. Those who try to be heroes, not listening to the commanding officer will not gain a purple heart or great badge for bravery. The only badge they will receive is a badge of dishonor for refusing to obey.

As mighty warriors, we are invincible through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Live or die, we win! Carry on Soldiers of the Lord!

Recipe For True Success

In the Book_of_Proverbs” Proverbs10:22 it says: The blessings of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. In Mark 10:17 a  rich man ran up to and kneeled to him asking him what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life. Well the rich man admitted to not committing adultery, killing, stealing or bearing false witness and not defrauding or dishonoring his father and mother.  However, Jesus answered the rich man  In Mark 10:21 and said:
One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. In  Mark 10:22, the rich man went away grieved: for he had GREAT possessions. You see the issue brothers and sisters is not the riches, it is that the rich man deeply trusted in his riches. Many of use misinterpret these scriptures and believe that God wants us to be poor. This in untrue… he wants us to trust in him not riches.

Indeed the rich man trusted his money more than he trusted His God who blessed him with the money. The kingdom of God meant less to him than his money. This is the case with many of us. As long as we have money, we are in a safe haven.  Look in Proverbs 18:11 where it says, that a rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. Do not allow your wealth to cause you to miss everlasting riches…

AMEN AND AMEN.

Give Me Your Eyes

Heavenly Father, these days are days of sorrow and great trickery. I thank you for being ever-present in my life and in all the decisions that I am faced with. I ask forgiveness of any decision that I have made that is not in position with your will. Furthermore, Lord, I need You to get involved in my life in a powerful way and grant me the skill to separate of the “Spirit” of truth from the spirit of error.

Teach me to examine the spirits to see whether they are from You (1John 4:1). Let your word prick my heart and cause me to practice how to distinguish the good from evil so I will be unpolluted and blameless for the day of “Christ”, help my love to flourish more and more in all judgment
Lord, allow my eyes to see the disguises of “Satan” In the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, show me through your eyes, let me hear with a spiritual ear and embrace me with Your mighty power. Father, I thank you for hearing my prayer. I trust and have faith that You are giving me that special ability to discern what your will is for me. I thank you Lord, in the name of Jesus, ….Give me Your Eyes So I can See.

God Made Being Obedient Easier

According to the Bible…

The Ten Commandments were only a reminder that we indeed needed a savior to cleanse us from what we inherited through Adam and Eve. The Ten Commandments was a constant reminder that we are sinners. Like a sign displaying the speed limit, we are reminded not to go over that speed limit, however it does that sign does not stop us from sinning. The Ten Commandments did not stop people from sinning and neither did all those sacrifices. Brothers and sisters, it is only through the indwelling Holy spirit that we can obey the ten commandments.God puts his word in our hearts when we invite Him into our hearts…We’re under a new promise…

Hebrews 10:16
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

We no longer need to be reminded of our old sinful nature, now we are to concentrate on our new nature, the born again nature put on the inside of all those who truly received Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.

Now when God looks upon us, he see the Blood of Jesus instead of our old sinful nature. We are the only ones that continue to condemn ourselves, God has forgiven therefore, we must forget the old man and concentrate on the new man. God passed over our sins like in Exodus chapter 12:12 says:
On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn—both men and animals—and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

I don’t know about you but I am glad God sent Jesus…The Living Word!!! Our Savior!!!
