Do you want to be blessed? Develop a servant’s heart. If Jesus stepped down from his glorious equality with God, and serve humans we ought to be willing to step down from SELF and serve Him & others.
Lord God, for a brand new day, we are grateful and joyful to be alive! Psalm 4:7 says “You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.” Lord God, we thank you for joy even in the midst of storms. We know that as long as you are with us, we win. In the name of Jesus, embrace the lives of our unbelieving family members and draw them nearer to you. Father, we desire for our loved ones to go to heaven as well. Help us to be your instrument and to plant seeds in their lives so you can grow them in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Thank you for their salvation. Thank you for your joy which is our strength.
When I open my blinds to look outside, I cannot help but smile. I think: “My God, what an artist you are.” Passing people on the streets, noticing how different they are, I think to myself: “Lord, your handiwork in creating us is beyond awesome!” Brothers and sisters, the testimonies I just shared are only a few examples of delighting in the Lord. Delighting in the Lord is a joyful response to the things we know God can do. Delighting in the Lord is a joyful response to understanding the power, majesty, mercy, and grace God provides.
Isaiah 61:10 describes my feeling better than any words I can utter. Isaiah 61:10 says “I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! “For he has dressed me in the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.” Brothers and sisters, Psalm 37:4 KJV says “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” This scripture is always taken literally and out of context. Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us that The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? God does not grant evil desires. In John 15:7 Jesus said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Delighting in the Lord is abiding in the Lord. Therefore, when we abide or delight ourselves in the Lord, our desires become His desires. Therefore, God gives us the desires of His Heart!
Bitterness …Bitterness is bitter feelings that results in hostility towards others. The Bible teaches us to “get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” The Bible reminds us of the good fruits of being “kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ forgave us” read and study Ephesians 4:31-32
When we give in to bitterness and allow it to rule our hearts we become unbalanced in our spirit. . Such unchecked fury and anger often lead to destruction of ourselves and others.
A bitter person is hard to be around. Bitterness is sin against God, and those who continue in bitterness will not inherit His kingdom see Galatians 5:19-2. Furthermore, Hebrews 12:15 warns us to “see to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” We must always be on guard and not allow “bitter roots” to grow in our hearts; such roots will cause us to fall short of the grace of God. God wants His people live in love, joy, peace, and holiness—not in bitterness.
I know that most of you have heard the statement: “God knows my heart”. Well that is very true…Mark 28 tells us how Jesus knew that the high priest reasoned within themselves. Luke Well, from the beginning of time, even in the first book of the Bible, Genesis 6:5, God say that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of mans heart was only evil continually.
Not one of us has the ability to cleanse our own heart. Proverbs 20:9 states: “Who can say, “I have cleansed my heart, I am pure and free from sin?”
Proverbs 21:2 says people may be right in their own heart, but the LORD examines their heart.
God wants wicked hearts to depart from him. In Psalm 101:4 it states: A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
Ezekiel 11:19 says: And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stoney, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, a heart of flesh.
It’s amazing how humanity tries to change God by coming up with man made laws to justify their actions so they will not have to conform to the Word. Romans 10: 3 remind us: For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Everyday we experience different confrontations and so many different people cross our pathways. Sometime we get caught up in situations and it it difficult to figure out how we got there. For this reason, It is important that each day before we take off into the world of battles we should ask the Lord to prepare us for what is coming.
Take this scripture with you each day and say it:
THE PEACE OF GOD WHICH PASSETH ALL UNDERSTANDING KEEPS MY HEART AND MY MIND THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. AND THINGS WHICH ARE GOOD, AND PURE AND PERFECT AND LOVELY AND OF A GOOD REPORT, I THINK ON THESE THINGS.
Heavenly Father, these days are days of sorrow and great trickery. I thank you for being ever-present in my life and in all the decisions that I am faced with. I ask forgiveness of any decision that I have made that is not in position with your will. Furthermore, Lord, I need You to get involved in my life in a powerful way and grant me the skill to separate of the “Spirit” of truth from the spirit of error.
Teach me to examine the spirits to see whether they are from You (1John 4:1). Let your word prick my heart and cause me to practice how to distinguish the good from evil so I will be unpolluted and blameless for the day of “Christ”, help my love to flourish more and more in all judgment
Lord, allow my eyes to see the disguises of “Satan” In the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, show me through your eyes, let me hear with a spiritual ear and embrace me with Your mighty power. Father, I thank you for hearing my prayer. I trust and have faith that You are giving me that special ability to discern what your will is for me. I thank you Lord, in the name of Jesus, ….Give me Your Eyes So I can See.
According to the Bible…
The Ten Commandments were only a reminder that we indeed needed a savior to cleanse us from what we inherited through Adam and Eve. The Ten Commandments was a constant reminder that we are sinners. Like a sign displaying the speed limit, we are reminded not to go over that speed limit, however it does that sign does not stop us from sinning. The Ten Commandments did not stop people from sinning and neither did all those sacrifices. Brothers and sisters, it is only through the indwelling Holy spirit that we can obey the ten commandments.God puts his word in our hearts when we invite Him into our hearts…We’re under a new promise…
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
We no longer need to be reminded of our old sinful nature, now we are to concentrate on our new nature, the born again nature put on the inside of all those who truly received Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Now when God looks upon us, he see the Blood of Jesus instead of our old sinful nature. We are the only ones that continue to condemn ourselves, God has forgiven therefore, we must forget the old man and concentrate on the new man. God passed over our sins like in Exodus chapter 12:12 says:
On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn—both men and animals—and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
I don’t know about you but I am glad God sent Jesus…The Living Word!!! Our Savior!!!
