A resistant carnal mind resists contact with spiritual truth. The carnal mind resist studying the Bible. In fact the carnal mind is more interested in arguing religious customs about people, places and things which are of little importance in drawing closer to God. How are you living is the question. Some people get all bent out of shape if anyone speaks negative towards the Ten Commandments. It’s funny how these same people HAVE NOT SUCCEEDED AT OBEYING THEM. In fact, how many of us can even recite all Ten Commandments? Who do you know besides Jesus who’s fulfill all Ten Commandments? Ten Commandments are Holy, Good, Perfect. Notice how not one of these terms describes the human race. So, how can we who are unholy, unclean and so not perfect obey Holy, Good and Perfect Commandments? We’re running around subjecting ourselves to useless works such as wearing certain type clothing, talking a certain way, showing up to church looking godly, reading (not studying)the Bible, and overall many of us are putting on a big show. Holy Spirit guides and teaches and therefore gives us discernment in matters of life. What’s hard to understand is how come people keep putting limits on God and making God look so petty? I mean, seriously, do you think you’ll go to Hell because you eat certain foods. It’s amazing how some people really believe that the clothes they wear will actually turn God’s heart or cause Him to act and give them a that -a-boy (or girl) pat on the back. The Good News is on the seventh day God rested from all his Works (Genesis 2:2) and invited us to enter into His finished works. (See Hebrews 4:11) We need only to believe what He did. Not what we are doing. We must come into agreement with God. How can two walk together less they agree? (See Amos 3:3) Bad news is some of us still believe that, we played a HUGE role in God’s decision to save us by his Great Grace, Mercy and everlasting love for us! Seriously why would God, the Potter, need the help of humans, the clay? It is by grace we’re saved not of works should any of us boast. “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18). (Please study Ephesians 2:8-9 and the entire book of Hebrews)
WE cannot control that sinful nature inside us…that’s why Romans 5:6 tells us “When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Grace is the sovereign (or superior) act of God by which we are drawn irresistibly to Him…Ephesians 1:5 says… “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
St John 1:16 tells us: And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. This means all believers possess continuous grace, power and ability. God foresaw the fall of Adam and Eve. He already made full provisions for our restoration back to Himself. He invites all humankind to partake of these provisions!
When you know that God loves you, you will put your confidence in Him.
As we continue believing, God’s grace comes in and take us beyond what we are able to do.
The grace of God is a believers greatest witness!
