According to Titus 2:12 we are to be training to renounce ungodliness and worldly passion, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age…
Hebrews 13:4 says: Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
Warnings against Sin
Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you,
nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.
It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.
Because of your sins, he has turned away
and will not listen anymore.
Your hands are the hands of murderers,
and your fingers are filthy with sin.
Your lips are full of lies,
and your mouth spews corruption.
No one cares about being fair and honest.
The people’s lawsuits are based on lies.
They conceive evil deeds
and then give birth to sin.
They hatch deadly snakes
and weave spiders’ webs.
Whoever falls into their webs will die,
and there’s danger even in getting near them.
Their webs can’t be made into clothing,
and nothing they do is productive.
All their activity is filled with sin,
and violence is their trademark.
Their feet run to do evil,
and they rush to commit murder.
They think only about sinning.
Misery and destruction always follow them.
They don’t know where to find peace
or what it means to be just and good.
They have mapped out crooked roads,
and no one who follows them knows a moment’s peace.
So there is no justice among us,
and we know nothing about right living.
We look for light but find only darkness.
We look for bright skies but walk in gloom.
We grope like the blind along a wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
Even at brightest noontime,
we stumble as though it were dark.
Among the living,
we are like the dead.
We growl like hungry bears;
we moan like mournful doves.
We look for justice, but it never comes.
We look for rescue, but it is far away from us.
For our sins are piled up before God
and testify against us.
Yes, we know what sinners we are.
We know we have rebelled and have denied the LORD.
We have turned our backs on our God.
We know how unfair and oppressive we have been,
carefully planning our deceitful lies.
Our courts oppose the righteous,
and justice is nowhere to be found.
Truth stumbles in the streets,
and honesty has been outlawed.
Yes, truth is gone,
and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.
The LORD looked and was displeased
to find there was no justice.
He was amazed to see that no one intervened
to help the oppressed.
So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm,
and his justice sustained him.
He put on righteousness as his body armor
and placed the helmet of salvation on his head.
He clothed himself with a robe of vengeance
and wrapped himself in a cloak of divine passion.
He will repay his enemies for their evil deeds.
His fury will fall on his foes.
He will pay them back even to the ends of the earth.
In the west, people will respect the name of the LORD;
in the east, they will glorify him.
For he will come like a raging flood tide
driven by the breath of the LORD.
“The Redeemer will come to Jerusalem
to buy back those in Israel
who have turned from their sins,”
says the LORD.
“And this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the LORD, have spoken!
Precious Father God, words cannot express how grateful we are to be here today. In the name of Jesus, we give you praise, honor, and thanksgiving for your majestic grace in allowing us to see this new day. Throughout this day enable us to continuously examine ourselves more than we do others as to discover the error of our own ways. We pray to be more like Jesus! Therefore, Father God, continue to transform our families, loved ones and us by the renewing of our minds so we can be in sync with your plans and purposes upon this earth as it is in heaven! As long as we are in agreement with you Lord God, we know we Win!
I recalled working on a job assignment when a certain so-called highly spiritual man had the full attention of people who professed to be Christians. I too listened, however; I was astonished by the fact that my co-workers, who professed Christianity as their faith, knew nothing of the Bible. This man’s words sounded spiritual and moving, however, he was outright exchanging the truth about God for a lie and worshipping and serving the creature rather than the Creator, which Romans 1:21 speaks of. The Lords sheep had that “oh how spiritual this mans is” expression on their faces. They were clueless to the fact that this man was opposed to and spoke opposite views of the Bible.
Brothers and sisters, this is what happens when we do not study the Bible. Not knowing the Bible keeps the sheep silent. Keeping silent, many people are misled and doomed to perish right along with those who oppose the Christian faith. 1st John 4:1 plainly tells us “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Colossians 2:8 warns us to “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” In 2nd Timothy 4:1-5 Paul told Timothy, “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and discharge all the duties of your ministry.”
Brothers and sisters, as Christians we are to speak up and not surrender to myths and fables and outright lies. God is not pleased with the silence of the sheep. By the way, in God’s allotted time, He allowed me to usher this spiritual man into the presence of the Lord. I spoke up when God gave me the opportunity to get him alone. He eventually accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior. Praise, honor, and thanksgiving to our God of Great Grace! Amen and Amen!
People are straight losing it over this next election coming up. Fear is obvious, hate is growing and the crime rate is not getting any lower. However, for those who have not lost their trust in God, this next election should not be a big issues. Even in the days of the exodus, the hardness of the Pharaohs heart help glorify the greatness of God. Remember Proverbs 21:1 says: The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he guides it wherever he pleases. So let us not get it twisted, the Great and Lofty One, the Sovereign of all creation, the Master of all universes is watching. His eyes are pierced upon the wickedness going on. It’s just a matter of time before His wrath is unleashed. We should address our concerns about who’s making decisions in our government to God. Let us pray for the best person to be in office according to the will of God. In the name of Jesus, rebuke and pray against wicked men and women entering into office, then let God work His mighty works. Oh and if we do our research, then ask God who should we vote for, He will most definitely make a way for us to understand who to vote for. Why? Because God sees inside of hearts and minds and knows all things!
Romans 2:14 explains how “Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it.” Seeing this scripture made me think about a documentary I recently viewed about a family living in a dense forest away from civilization. The husband of this family thought it honorable to climb a very tall tree to retrieve a bunch of honey for his wife and family. On the ground, his family were looking up at him praising him for his bravery. You see, this man could have easily died while reaching his hand into the swarming bee hive to get his family some sweets. Honey was a rare delicacy they could enjoyed a couple times a year. The husband withstood multiple bee stings. I thought to myself how this man has no access to laws like many so-called civilized human beings yet this man knows that love is an action word and he was willing to take the chance of getting stung by hundreds of bees just so his family would be happy. This documentary was really moving in that it showed how those whom we label as uncivilized were actually more civilized that we are. The unity of this family was astonishing. They fit together like a hand in a glove. These people were obeying God’s command to love one another with a true love. (See 1 Corinthians 13) They were in sincere harmony and showed so much respect for one another. I am clueless as to how God works out situations like this but I do know that God is a God of Love and He is a God of justice. He does the right thing always. I believe that us so-called civilized one’s have much to learn from these so-called uncivilized people. Families like these can impact the world in profound ways. The point is if we would all take part in building strong, bonding, peaceful God-honoring family units, we could actually put a stop to much of the madness that’s going on in this world. Trusting in the righteousness of God sewn into our hearts can make us a better world to live in.
It seems to me that a man as intelligent as Tyler Perry knows that the Government know everything about everybody or can discover it if they so desire. It is really hard for me to believe that Tyler Perry is in this mess (The military lawsuit) all alone. I mean… what made Tyler Perry try to get over on the government? Just a thought, but, I imagine if enough movie stars got burned for trying to get over on the government, the United States could get out of the debt we are in. Now that’s just a thought that ran through my brains. However keep in mind, I am not suggesting anything but only thinking out loud. Lord knows I cannot go to jail, I have to take care of my mother. What’s really going on? I don’t have a clue.
One thing I do know is that no matter what, Tyler Perry is the man who gave the world a taste of what it is like to be a Christians even though we have issues just like everyone else. He bought hope not hell and damnation into homes. Tyler Perry bought love, joy and much laughter into the lives of many people. But guess what, the devil hates that and I am sure He is trying to do something about Tyler Perry as to try to shut him down. I pray for Tyler Perry to take all this mess and chalk it up as a trick of the enemy and keep pressing in to enemy lines. It’s good that Mr. Perry is not feeding into this trickery. I also Pray that He will seek God in this matter and ask God to show Him how to gain the victory in every situation and circumstance.
It is only God who knows hearts and minds. We can only guess and speculate and even when we see things, this does not mean we saw the truth as to what is really going on. So, having said that, let us not start bad mouthing Mr. Perry…God is his judge, maker and whatever happened, God will deal with it righteously. Until then, let us all keep in mind that the Book of Proverbs 6:16-19 (New Living Translation) tells us: There are six things the Lord hates— no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family. Furthermore, I leave you with Galatians 6:10-12 (NLT): A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Jesus said, he who is without sin, cast the first stone. ( paraphrased, John 8:7)
