In the first few chapters of the book of Genesis, God established Adam as Eve and gave them power over everything, and everything they needed, he also gave. After the serpent convinced Eve against God’s s specific instructions, Genesis 3:6 tells us that she was convinced after she saw how beautiful and delicious the fruit looked and she desperately wanted it. Allurement is attraction to something flattering or desirable.
Eve‘s desires for the fruit made her forget the importance of what she already had. According to James 1:15; lust gives birth to sinful actions. In Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 18, states we continue to drift far from the life God gives.
Many of us keep closing our minds and hardening our hearts towards God. Still, even in our rebellion, God loves us so much, that again, he gave us everything we could ever need or want through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Yet, we still do not understand the importance and the power we possess. Some people are not excited by God, but by His creations. Clearly, they are after the charming things they see, hear, taste, and feel, however, we should be chasing God. We should be storing up heavenly treasure that will never end. We are to desire the creator more than His creations.
